PHPification

Hot piss, it's been 3 months since the last site update and I haven't added any new features :( However Simo has kindly made me some .php scripts that do the job of the old .asp files I was using, so now everyone can use apache to run the player on the Windows, Linux or Mac box of their choice. Yay :)

Anyway here's a proper photo of the player serving some content to my Wii. The next step is to add some buttons for removing tracks from and clearing the playlist.

I'll post again soon,

Second video- OMG Scrolling!!!

H'okay, here's the second video in the series. I've added a scroller button that allows you to click and whirl the wiimote around to move folder and track listings up and down.

IMHO it beats the heck out of using a fiddly scrollbar with your Wiimote; maybe someone'll do scrolling like this in a game or whatever. Anyway, I'm off to go add an +album button and some stuff for editing the playlist. Then I'm gonna go upload this thing!

First peek at my Nintendo Wii mp3 client

Ok, where to begin?

I've seen a few people creating or adapting media players for use on the Wii, but none of them have been built from scratch to work well using the Wiimote or the limited resolution of a TV.

The aim of The Wii Project is to create a neat, easy to use mp3 player for the Wii that gives you access to the music on your PC via your LAN. That's it.

Here's a video of the player I've built so far; I promise better videos a bit later on as I've got a DVD recorder I can use for capture when I'm a bit further along.
